Keeping the Balance

by Running On Empty Mommy on June 20, 2012

So, as most of you know, I am constantly Running On Empty. I have recently graduated college and went through a little post-grad depression which you can read all about here. This depression, and the post itself  put in me a little blogging rut. Okay, I lied a HUGE blogging rut. Six months worth of a blogging rut. I received a few very nasty comments on that post. I did not know the people who posted the negative comments, but they were rude, hurtful, and crushed me. I’ve always been the one to share a lot of my feelings on my blog. I totally thought I could find comfort in my community, but instead I found negativity from people I did not even know!!!!

I’ve only been to one blogging event, which was an amazing one in Philly hosted by the fabulous Tina and Erica from Girls Lunch Out. This event was awesome! I had such an awesome time connecting with some good ‘ol blogging besties that I was SO SURE I would jump in the blogging game again. If you want to read more about the GLO party, check out Sheila’s recap post which says it all.

Liz (Six Year Itch) and I stirring up some trouble at GLO party.

But, I didn’t. And everyone was asking why I wasn’t. Family members and friends (who I never thought even read my blog) were asking, my online friends were asking, and even my hubby (who hates anything that takes time away from the family) was asking. But, I could not figure out how to do it all. I recently started working with a fabulous gal, Christina owner of Pinuzzotto Consulting.

So, I’ve been back full-force in the Social Media world. I’m writing posts for various clients and managing their social media, and I know plenty of mamas who have been fortunate enough to do the same. But, HOW DO YOU DO IT??? How do you keep up with your personal social media sites? Also, what third party client if your favorite to keep them all organized?

I recently created an editorial calendar for a new client, so I decided to create my own editorial calendar for my personal blog! Let’s see if I can stick to it. Vacation is just a few short days away, and with hubby not being able to attend this year, this could provide me extra “free” time to blog. Instead of “unplugging” this vacation, I will be plugging in!

Tomorrow, look for an update on the little man and his new weird habit. That is all for now, and we know it’s….

Just a thought.

glad to see you’re back! sometimes we all need a break to refocus & happy that you’ve found enjoyment in blogging again (because it should really be about YOU anyway!). :)
